Tool

Create a ZIP archive (client-side)

Use this DocClean utility to bundle multiple files into a single .zip archive directly in your browser. PDFs, Word documents, images and more can be bundled without uploading them to any server.

File compression tool

Select one or more files from your device and DocClean will create a ZIP archive entirely in your browser. This is useful for sending document bundles or archiving exports from the PDF redaction tool.

You can choose PDFs, Word documents, images, text files and more. Files never leave your browser tab.

Note: compression ratio depends on the file types. Text-heavy files usually compress well, while already-compressed formats (like many PDFs, JPEGs and MP4s) may only shrink slightly.

What ZIP compression actually does

This tool bundles multiple files into a single .zip archive using standard DEFLATE compression. It's lossless — file content is unchanged, not visually degraded. It's ideal when you need to send several files as one attachment, or reduce the size of text-heavy files for a portal upload.

For sensitive documents, it's usually best to redact first, export a clean copy, and then zip the redacted version.

What to expect from the size reduction

  • Text-heavy files (plain PDFs, Word documents, spreadsheets) usually shrink noticeably.
  • Already-compressed formats — JPEG images, most scanned PDFs, videos — often shrink little or not at all, since they're not very compressible a second time.
  • Nothing about zipping changes image quality, text sharpness, or signature/stamp detail — the files inside are stored as-is.
  • Very large batches of files can take longer, depending on your device.
