You remain the data controller
When you use DocClean with real documents that contain personal data, you or your organisation remain the data controller. You decide what data is collected, why it is processed and who it is shared with. DocClean does not take over those responsibilities.
No guarantee of legal compliance
DocClean is provided "as is" without any guarantee that a redacted document will meet the requirements of GDPR, CCPA/CPRA or any other law in your jurisdiction. It is your responsibility to review the output and confirm that the document is suitable for your intended use.
Always double-check redacted documents
Automated PII detection can be imperfect. You should always review redacted documents before sharing them, especially when they relate to immigration, employment, finance, health or legal matters. If in doubt, seek advice from a qualified professional.
No liability for misuse
While we aim to provide a robust tool, we cannot accept liability for any loss, damage or regulatory action arising from how you choose to use DocClean. You are responsible for ensuring that your use of the service is lawful and appropriate for your context.
Combine with internal policies and legal advice
DocClean should be one part of a broader privacy and security approach. Use it alongside internal data-handling policies, retention rules and, where necessary, legal advice tailored to your organisation and jurisdiction.
For details on how we handle your data, see our Privacy Policy.
