Cookies, analytics & tracking on DocClean

This page explains how DocClean uses cookies, local storage and analytics. The core PDF redaction tool runs client-side, but some minimal tracking may be used to understand usage patterns and keep the service reliable.

Essential cookies & local storage

Some small pieces of data may be stored in your browser (for example, your selected theme, last used profile or cookie preference). These are intended to make the site more convenient to use and are not used to track you across other websites.

Analytics & performance measurement

We may use privacy-aware analytics to count page views, understand which features are used and monitor basic performance or error rates. These tools are configured to avoid collecting unnecessary personal data and do not have access to the content of your PDFs.

Third-party services

If we embed third-party scripts (for example, analytics, error reporting or consent tools), those services may set their own cookies in accordance with their privacy policies. We aim to keep this to a minimum and prefer tools that respect user privacy.

Managing your preferences

You can usually clear cookies and local storage for this site using your browser's settings. Many browsers also allow you to block third-party cookies or run in a more privacy-focused mode while still using DocClean.

For a broader explanation of our approach to data, see the Privacy Policy.
